Jessica and I have talked about this for the last year and it finally came! I could feel the anticipation build in our emails as Jessica shared about the butterflies in her stomach as we got closer and closer to Friday, June 16. No more living in different towns, video chat, or counting down…they finally made it to Day One of their lives together!

You know those pre-wedding butterflies? Those were no match for the butterflies during Jess and Josh’s First Look! After seeing each other they had a few moments to cry, dry their tears….cry some more, enjoy talking, hugging, and kissing. It was so special to see Jess with her future husband!

A lot of people worry that a First Look will take the excitement away from walking down the aisle. I haven’t checked with Jess and Josh because they are honeymooning, but I have photo evidence of Josh’s tears and Jessica’s huge smile as she was walking down the aisle. With this, I can confirm that there were a lot of emotions and happiness! With a First look you don’t trade one special moment for the other, you don’t run out of smiles or tears. You get TWO special experiences, with a gamut of emotions! A plus is that you do get rid of nerves!!

They shared a heartfelt ceremony, at Riverside Baptist, lead by Josh’s father with scripture readings from each of their mothers. At their Cannon Centre reception, Jessica and her dad surprised us with a choreographed dance! They served the tastiest asian dinner of sesame chicken, stir fry, sticky rice and more! My second photographer and I were even seated at a guest table. This gesture was not the norm and totally unexpected, but y’all, I ate a full plate of food! It was delicious!! Their Asian wedding inspiration came from Josh’s family’s time in Thailand as missionaries and Jessica’s Chinese heritage!
