A Simpsonville, SC Outdoor Wedding
Mac and Kylie are such a special couple! Jeff and I are so thankful for the time we have gotten to spend with them and look forward to seeing their marriage grow! Mac and Kylie are so unique in their character, attitude, style, and values. You could see their strong belief in God play out through their whole wedding day at Windy Hill.
Rain during their first look made perfect time for them to be calm, read a note to each other and spend time together. Because we created a flexible timeline, the rain was not an issue. They did not have to stress about anything and we still got portraits complete with more than enough time.
With a crack of thunder a mid-ceremony downpour started. With one look at his bride, Mac announced, “we’re going inside!” Everybody ran. I don’t know how it happened, but their Plan B ceremony was set up and ready within a few blurry, wet minutes. I appreciate that they did not shorten the ceremony due to weather. The worship time and washing each other‘s feet inside the barn was so important. It is the perfect example of servanthood to each other in marriage. No matter the storms, keep pressing on, stay the course and love each other unconditionally.
At the end of the night, Mac and Kylie said they felt like they were living in a dream all day long. I felt the same way. It flew by, as all good things do. Here we are, their marriage has begun. They have each other, their memories, their photos, and a few leftover pieces of delicious sweet potato cake!
My favorite part of their First Look was that Mac had 10 different reactions…he just kept reacting to his bride!
Since it was raining, and we had ample time in our schedule, Mac and Kylie were able to spend time together reading a note that Mac wrote Kylie the day he asked her to marry him.
Get this, the rain stopped. We had 15 whole minutes for DRY bride and groom portraits!
Kylie’s bridesmaids look stunning in their Bella Bridesmaid dresses. The perfect accent to tie together their wedding vision.
The gray suits and Mac’s blue is a new favorite wedding style of mine!!!
The Rock Family!
The Daniel Family!
Two things to note:
1. The sun came out!
2. If we didn’t have a First Look, all the pictures you just scrolled through would have been rained out, limited to the porch, or done inside the reception. I never push the First Look idea on anyone. I will say we are all thankful for the flexibility and portrait opportunities it provided us!
Notice the rain in the background.
Mac and Kylie spent over a year collecting vintage china for their place settings. These unique pieces are available to rent through their local, small business Pretty Plates Greenville.
I’m so happy we got a picture with these two!! What an honor to celebrate and photograph them!
Their beautiful wedding slideshow is one of my favorites! Press play below.
