A fall, jewel-toned wedding in Upstate, SC
October 26 was such an amazing day!! Christy and Davis were married at Overbrook Presbyterian Church in Gaffney, SC and we celebrated at Indigo Hall in downtown Spartanburg, SC. From their first date of accidentally riding the train to Wisconsin instead of Chicago all the way to their wedding day in South Carolina, Christy and Davis’s relationship has been something special in the making. After hearing the tearful, eloquent and hilarious toasts at their reception, no doubt Christy and Davis are a fantastic match. They also have the coolest people around as friends and family who traveled from all over the country to to celebrate them.
My favorite moment of their fall wedding day was whisking Christy and Davis away on the golf cart after their first look. Christy and Davis are amazing together! They are so comfortable with each other and the camera loves them! Their First Look was filled with laughter and very sweet moments. Then we met up with the wedding party and family for more portraits. It was so fun to see them all make their way on the golf course. All the details came together beautifully from flowers to dresses, to hair and make up and bowties! The forecast was calling for rain most of the day, but its unpredictability went in our favor! It didn’t even rain until guests were at Indigo Hall for cocktail hour. (When we did get a little mist, we all laughed and agreed to ignore it during portraits)!
After photographing over 150 weddings, I notice things. I noticed Christy and Davis broke the mold on a few wedding norms. They had a First Look at Christy’s family’s home in Gaffney, SC on Cherokee National Golf Course and we also created time for portraits in downtown Spartanburg and at Indigo Hall. They wanted to be a part of their cocktail hour-which gave them so much more time to visit with their guests. Berbank Events designed wedding dreams and Christy and Davis actually got to see their reception hall before their guests entered for dinner. There were so many thoughtful touches and I could tell Christy and Davis were intentionally savoring every single piece of their day.
If loving those shoes is wrong, then I don’t want to be right.
The fall colors and cloudy skies were more than we could have asked for!!
Rich, jewel tones forever, please!
Christy and Davis wanted an Exit with all their guests after their ceremony! It was so fun! This also turned out really great because their reception was so energized Christy nixed the night time exit for more dancing!!
Berbank Events created a stunning design for the newlyweds!!
Details matter, and these vendors were stellar!!
