I absolutely love getting to know a couple during their wedding photography experience!  Melissa, Blake and I clicked instantly!  It is always so fun to get to the wedding day and meet all the friends and family that have been such a huge part in the couples’ lives!  Their day started at Melissa’s Mom and Stepdad’s home with hair, make up, lots of laughter, and food!  When we arrived Cotton Rouge was putting on the final touches and I got started styling their beautiful details!

At The Dairy Barn, Melissa got dressed and we set Blake up for their first look!  Melissa and I were texting in the days prior to the wedding as we watched the forecast.  Thank goodness we didn’t have rain!  It was a little cold and windy, but when your day is threatened with possible rain, I’m ok with a little cold and wind!  Their first look was so fun – when you scroll down you’ll see they were so excited even before they saw each other!!  Blake and Melissa laughed the whole time they were together for portraits!  I have so many favorite images of them!!  After wedding party and family portraits, we stole a few more moments of bride and groom portraits!!

Laughter filled the loft of The Dairy Barn for their cozy ceremony as the sun set.  Melissa and Blake wanted to join in the fun for the cocktail hour, so after a hugging their grandparents and taking a few more portraits, they were able to welcome their guests and enjoy cocktail hour!  A delicious dinner was served!  Once everyone was filled to the brim we celebrated with tearful toasts then danced the night away!!!

Such a fun story, the person who caught the garter at Blake’s parents’ wedding over 30 years ago sent it back for Blake and Melissa’s wedding!!!

Now for inside portraits because it was COLD and windy!!  I love these!!

Melissa wanted a few more portraits without her veil so we were able to sneak out behind the venue for more shots while guests entered the front for the ceremony!  They experienced many of the perks of a First Look!  We had flexibility with threatening weather, day light savings, and just wanting more pictures!!  I’m so happy with this set of images- lots of favorites!

They shared a German Bridal Cup tradition!

Everyone was going crazy over Family Catering’s delicious spread!  Melissa and Blake showed southern hospitality with their menu of fresh fruit, grilled cheese and tomato soup, shrimp and grits, street tacos, chicken and salad and an amazing dessert bar!
