If love were raindrops, it would rain all day! On November 23, 2019 it did just that! I could tell you all about the rain, but I’ll focus on the LOVE part. Katie and Lucas have been counting down to their wedding day with such enthusiasm! They were seriously so great together, such a joy to photograph, and so ready to be married!
When I arrived on Saturday, spirits were high and the laughter was endless! For their first look, Lucas was in tears after seeing his bride. They were able to have a few quiet moments together. After their romantic portraits, it was time to hang out with everyone and have a good time with wedding party and family portraits. The First Look also allowed them to have their portraits in natural day light…even if the rain kept us under the church’s portico! I’ve never been so thankful for a portico! A First Look is so important with day light savings and fall and winter weddings.
Each guest left the ceremony inspired to draw closer to God and love each other with His love. Pastor Aaron didn’t beat around the bush and gave Katie and Lucas both very important, motivational charges. It means so much for a marriage to be supported by a church family!
We celebrated at Larkin’s Sawmill on North Main Street in Greenville. Everyone was ready to dine and dance! Their friends filled the dance floor and DJ Chris Scott kept them there!
I’m not sure which I like more…her blue suede shoes or her amazing bouquet! I’m so glad I don’t have to choose!
Before Lucas got to see Katie, it was her father and brothers’ turn!
Lucas remembered his grandmother by wearing her wedding band on his boutonniere. This was such a touching detail that Lucas didn’t find out about until the wedding day.
Family time!
We kept waiting for the rain to let up for pictures, but it just fell harder. Katie and Lucas grabbed my clear umbrella for a few quick moments in the downpour. I love their spirit and their willingness to laugh!!
His reaction still gets me.
