Anna and Will’s love is one worth celebrating!  They first met when Will, a historian and author, came to Anna’s 1800s home to research it!  They were engaged in June 2019.  For months and months Anna and Will looked forward to April 18, 2020!  For weeks, we watched unbelievable issues unfold in our world.  They held on to April 18 with hope, but with every news update it became clear that they would have to postpone their dream wedding day.  They replanned everything for a few months later.  We had no idea what the world would be like at that point, but we knew they didn’t want to wait any longer to be married!

July 25 was a beautiful day!!  Despite the challenges they faced with a date change and venue change, their day was truly perfect!  I first met Anna’s family through her sister Sara’s wedding, in 2018.  My heart swells with joy to see their family grow and to celebrate them in their wedding experiences.

The majority of their portraits were done in the front yard of Anna’s family home.  The very one that brought Anna and Will together through his research!  We stood under the giant oak trees for portraits.  It felt like the ultimate southern wedding.  Anna makes me laugh!  As soon as we started their bride and groom portraits, she asked “Can we do a veil shot?”  Of course!  Of course!  With family and friends around them, they celebrated and enjoyed every minute of their day together.

The heat of the afternoon was blazing so we opted to do their wedding party portraits inside!  Their church was beautiful and natural light filled the sanctuary so it worked out wonderfully!

Do you think they could have imagined taking their wedding portraits in front of the very house that first brought them together?  I love a full circle detail incorporated in portraits.

Anna and Will’s NC reception venue became unavailable for their reception so they kept their celebration closer to home with their plated dinner reception in the hall of their church.  It turned out beautifully!  I loved all the white and the touches of magnolia leaves decorating each table.
